A former model and a successful American actress, Margaret Denise Quigley (popularly known as Maggie Q) was born on May 22, 1979. Although Maggie Q was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii; she is of mix descent with her father from Ireland and Poland, while her mother is from Vietnam. Her parents met during Vietnam War when her father was positioned in Vietnam, after which they moved to Mililani from where she did her schooling. She has four siblings.
Maggie Q attended elementary as well as intermediate school from Mililani Waena Elementary School and Wheeler Intermediate School respectively. She became an athlete in her high school called Mililani High School, where she joined cross nation, athletics, and swim groups. She graduated from Mililani High School in 1997 and established her athleticism through the title of “Best Body” in her senior year.
Her modeling career began when she started modeling in Tokyo at the age of 17. Later she decided to stay in Hong Kong after moving from Taipei, which became her lucky destination when Jackie Chan spotted her. He mentored her with the belief that she had talent for becoming a famous action star.
The year 1998 was Maggie Q’s first attempt at acting for TV shows which started her acting career with her first role in the TV drama House of the Dragon. She did her film debut in 2000 as Anna in, the horror film, Model from Hell and celebrated her popularity as a film star as an FBI agent “Jane Quigley” in the action film Gen-Y Cops. Later on she was cast in Manhattan Midnight and Rush Hour 2.
